"Beginning around 1700, the art of portraiture in Fance reached a new height, both in its artistry and in the sheer numbers of portraits which were painted or sculpted. Portraiture enjoyed a great proliferation as a genre, indeed an increased popularity that continued unabated into the nineteenth century. It is our desire in this exhibition to study this phenomena by showing a remarkable range of portrait types produced by French artists, or by artists working in France, during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries." NOTE: Due to size of catalogue additional shipping cost may be required for OUT-OF-U.S. shipment in conjunction with destination. GB4.
