A good copy of the collection of piano pieces amassed by Bertha and Nellie Linton and then bound together in quarter leather (dark red) with red cloth covered boards and gilt lettering, 7 bands and designs to spine. Spine is rubbed but still intact, cloth rubbed to all edges but still quite colourful. State is commensurate with a book in use for over 130 years. Internally, clean; front hinge intact but back hinge broken; each piece has the signature of one of the women (sisters?), some with the date of acquisition; one is dated 1878 which gives a rough date for the whole; some pages are repaired but all repairs are neat and clean (some stitched). Approximately 40 pieces of music, quite a number of which are arrangements of Handel pieces, many in editions by Charles Halle, other composers include Mendelssohn, Weber, Beethoven, Mozart etc. along with some lighter pieces. A large and heavy book which may incur increased postage charges.
