Five poetry collections. Each softbound 15 x 22 cms All first editions, some with inscriptions or notes loosely inserted. As follows, in publication date order: 1: "Sonnets in Sand". 14 pp. 1946. No. 56 of 83 copies only "Hand-printed in Great Britain by the Author". Loosely inserted signed 11 line note of Thanks to "Richard" dated 20th Dec 1946. This is Richard Ollard. 2. "Cento Poetae". 25 pp no. 56 of 128 copies "Hand-Printed in Britain by the Publisher". 1949. Inscribed in ink "Richard Ollard with all best wishes from Giles and Joan Dixey. Christmas '49". 3. "Simplicities of an Author-Printer". 1947. No. 187 of 200 copies. 4. "A View of Poetry". 1950. 14 pp. No. 21 of 112 copies. Bound with silk tie. Inscribed "R.O. from G.D May '50". Loosely inserted note : Less nocuous this time, but more naif--and with love from us both". G.D., 5. "A Passage in Square Rig". 1958. Inscribed in blue ink "R.L.O. from HGD. '50". Not paginated but 36 pp of verse. [The Dixey family of Oxford included Frederick Augustus Dixey (1855-1935), Fellow of Wadham College, and his son Harold Giles Dixey (1893-1974), who we have here.
