9 lithographies en noir tirées sur papier filigrané "Gaudin Fils 1828", dont 8 à grandes marges (environ 400 x 280 mm) et 1 plus courte de marge (335 x 245 mm). ( salissures, traces de plis, défauts d'usage aux bords, déchirures et trous restaurés ). Cartonnage à rabat moderne. Très rare ensemble de portraits d'habitants de l'Algérie en costumes traditionnels lithographiés d'après les dessins de Jules Baltard (1807-1874). Ces planches proviennent de la Collection de quinze costumes du pays dessinés d'après nature et lithographiées par M. J. Baltard, ancien élève de l'Académie de Paris signalée par H. Fiori dans sa Bibliographie des ouvrages imprimés à Alger de 1830 à 1850 (notice n°13), dont il ne connaît pas d exemplaire complet. Ces neuf planches à l'adresse de la Lith. rue Lalahoum, n°73, à Alger, sont datées 1834 et légendées : Maure costume riche, Mauresque dans son intérieur, Mauresque à la ville, Garçon de bain maure, Nègre Biskris, Négresse, Bédouin, Caïd, Cadi. Leur tirage fut quasiment confidentiel. Superbe iconographie. 9 lithographs in black printed on watermarked paper "Gaudin Fils 1828", of which 8 with large margins (about 400 x 280 mm) and 1 shorter margin (335 x 245 mm). ( soiling, traces of folds, defects of use to the edges, tears and holes restored ). Modern flap boards. Very rare set of portraits of inhabitants of Algeria in traditional costumes lithographed from the drawings of Jules Baltard (1807-1874). These plates come from the Collection of fifteen costumes of the country drawn after nature and lithographed by Mr. J. Baltard, former student of the Academy of Paris reported by H. Fiori in his Bibliography of works printed in Algiers from 1830 to 1850 (notice n°13), of which he does not know of a complete copy. These nine plates with the address of the Lith. street Lalahoum, n°73, in Algiers, are dated 1834 and captioned: Moor rich costume, Moor in his interior, Moor in the city, Moor bath boy, Biskris Negro, Negress, Bedouin, Caïd, Cadi. Their edition was almost confidential. Superb iconography. Seller Inventory # 5525
