A very scarce Tauchnitz edition of the notable work, the volume consists of the diaries of the Liberal politician and memoirist, who was a cabinet member under William Gladstone. In quarter-calf binding with gilt titles to the spine and cloth boards. Externally quite smart, with marginal wear. Internally, the pages are firmly bound and are bright and clean throughout, aside from some foxing to the end pages.
