A College Tale

A College Tale is a vivid coming-of-age story about young love, brotherhood, ambition, and the risky choices that shape a life before adulthood fully begins.

Set on the campus of Salem College in Roanoke, Virginia, the novel follows Kensington “Sing” Randle, a student trying to find his footing after academic suspension, old mistakes, and the pull of “the game.” Surrounded by a tight crew of friends who feel more like family, Sing is confident in public but privately uncertain about the future he wants—and the man he will have to become to claim it.

When Savanah Grave enters his world, everything begins to shift. Intelligent, reserved, and unwilling to settle for less than she deserves, Savanah challenges Sing in ways no one else has. What begins as nervous phone calls, campus rumors, and stolen moments grows into something deeper—something that forces him to confront the dangers of his lifestyle, the loyalty he feels to his friends, and the possibility that love may require more from him than charm or good intentions.

With its conversational voice, sharply drawn friendships, and honest reflection on identity, masculinity, race, risk, and growth, A College Tale captures the urgency of college life—the parties, the pressure, the laughter, the fear, and the fleeting closeness of people who do not yet realize how quickly everything can change.
