The agents of evil roam the hallways of Buchner Collegiate, a high school in Bridal Veil Lake. They want souls, yes, but they want bodies more. One student has already gone missing...

It doesn't impact Jason Thomas much. He's in grade ten, friendless, and more worried about avoiding his alcoholic father. Everything changes, finally, when Robin Montcalm, one of the most popular girls in school, invites him to tag along to class.

Desperate for peers, Jason follows Robin like a lost puppy. She enjoys the distraction from her own problems. Her father is dying, and is frustratingly fine with it.

The blossoming friendship is accelerated and challenged by a series of supernatural events. Robin is attacked in the night. Jason is visited by a wounded man.

In the end, warnings from ghosts and threats from demons reveal the awful truth: there is no escape.
