Hinges professionally repaired, scratch at bottom of rear cover. Original illustrated paper wrappers and strip bound in, as well as the subscription advertisement with first spread. An elegant, large paper edition on lush Japon paper of Prosper Mérimée's short novel, Colomba, which first appeared on 1 July 1840 in the Revue des Deux Mondes. Through the lens of historical fiction, the novella examines the Corsican vendetta.
