Colonel Carroll T. Harris Tells of His Friendship with Frederic W. Goudy

14-page booklet measures 8 1/2" x 11 3/4". A short note at the back of the booklet by Helen Lee, the sponsor of this keepsake, notes that Frederic W. Goudy died May 11, 1947 and she further states: "This sentimental remembrance of Frederic Goudy first appeared in the Summer 1950 issue of the Book Club of California Quarterly News Letter. It was written after Goudy's death by a person who then preferred to remain anonymous. Now, 38 years later and 13 years after the death of Colonel Carrol Harris, I feel he would have no objection to my using his memory of Goudy as my keepsake for the joint meeting in San Francisco of the Zamorano and Roxburghe members, October, 1988". The author fondly remembers his teacher, mentor and friend of many years and his type designs such as Goudy Oldstyle, Kennerley, Forum and Hadriano.
