About the Author

Susan Hight Rountree, author of the popular Entertaining Ideas from Williamsburg and Christmas Decorations from Williamsburg, is a miniaturist and freelance designer. Inspired by the variety of plant materials in Colonial Williamsburg’s many gardens, Mrs. Rountree uses them, often in combination with favorite objects, to create unusual table settings and other decorations appropriate for all seasons, as well as in recipes, and as gifts. She has designed special Christmas trees for the Williamsburg Inn and has presented workshops, lectures, and demonstrations on making miniatures and seasonal decorations, cooking with herbs, and creating designs for entertaining. The author is a member of the Garden Club of Virginia, the Herb Society of America, and the International Guild of Miniature Artisans.

Elizabeth Hundley Babb, whose illustrations also appear in Entertaining Ideas from Williamsburg and Christmas Decorations from Williamsburg, is a skilled artist and floral arranger. She has won numerous awards for her paintings and is a member of the Miniature Painters, Sculptors, and Carvers’ Society of Washington, D.C. An avid gardener, and a member of the Herb Society of America, she is the author and illustrator of Beauty with Reverence, a book on the flower festival held at Bruton Parish Church.

Tom Green, who earned a B.S. in photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology, came to Colonial Williamsburg in 1989. He is a member of the Professional Photographers of America. Green’s photographs also appear in Christmas Decorations from Williamsburg and Entertaining Ideas from Williamsburg.
