Therefore, I compiled these cases into a book with color photographs. My wish is to share these impossible injuries with my colleagues, friends and patients. I hope all of my friends will appreciate and value them as I do. Most frostbite patients presented here were associated with ethanol intoxication.

About the Author

In 1998, a wing of Fairmont General Hospital in the main entrance was named in honor of Dr. Koay as the Dr. Jack S. Koay Medical Arts Building. In addition, Dr. Koay won the prestigious Free to Achieve Award from Fairmont General Hospital on National Doctor's Day in 2002. Dr. Koay enjoys his medical practice in Fairmont, West Virginia, U.S.A. He has three daughters and one son who is a physician in Fairmont. His youngest daughter has been accepted to medical school and the other two daughters are working for private firms. Dr. Koay's wife, Mary Ellen, is a University Professor.
