Reviews
Most color analysis books concentrate on Caucasians, with little attention to black skins. Having discovered 38 separate skin tones among women of African American descent, color analyst Patton has developed six basic color palettes that include the full spectrum of "black" coloring. She explains the effects of the skin's undertones in determining one's best colors. Though Patton explains each palette in detail, she encourages readers to experiment with "forbidden" colors, since undertones in the product may alter its effect. She also discusses wardrobe planning, image development, and the psychological aspects of color. Thoroughly researched and well written, this guide belongs in most public libraries.
