Item description from seller

Postally unused, light soiling, spotting, and creasing, corners worn. The Balloon Route Excursion was a very popular trolley car trip that went from Los Angeles to Redondo Beach. Advertised as "The Best $1.00 Trip in the World", it covered 70 miles in 7 hours, visting ten beaches, eight cities, and 28 miles along the beach. Charles M. Pierce managed the Balloon Route from 1904-1911 for the Los Angeles & Pacific Railway Company. Shown in the postcard is a beautifully illuminated nighttime scene of Venice's waterfront buildings. SCARCE. Newman Post Card Co. 1907-1960s.
