Leslie P. Gartner, Professor of Anatomy (Ret.), Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Dental School of the University of Maryland has received numerous teaching awards and is the author of "Textbook of Histology, 4th Edition" (2016) which has been translated into six languages. He also wrote "Color Atlas of Histology, 7th Edition" (2016). The atlas, which is used by medical schools all over the world, has been translated into eleven languages. He also coauthored "Cell Biology and Histology, 7th Edition "(2015) with James L. Hiatt which has been translated into six languages. Dr. Gartner was the Histology consultant to "Stedman's Medical Dictionary, 28th Edition" (2006). He also coauthored "Textbook of Neuroanatomy, 2nd ed." (2016) with Maria A. Patestas.
