Colorful World

Sparking joy: this book delivers the rainbow-splashed celebration we are all seeking after a year of pandemic fatigue and lockdown blues. It is a return to innocence and having fun.

Spectacularly colorful and packed with joie de vivre, this romp through 50 of the most colorful places on earth—from Greece to Japan, Indonesia to Italy—delivers a jolt of optimism and enthusiasm. From the Zhangye Danxia landform in Gansu, China, to the rainbow mountain in the Peruvian Andes, stunning photographs are paired with inspirational quotes from Mikati, whose enthusiasm for travel is intoxi-cating. Driven by her unabashedly optimistic spirit, Mikati has travelled the globe to gather—in her first book—a plethora of visual wonders: ancient monoliths, scenic islands, stunning artwork, electric cityscapes, white-sand seashores, ancient cobbled streets, and both classic and innovative architecture. The infectious, whimsical spirit that carries throughout these pages is reflective of Mikati’s own ultra-upbeat outlook on life.

Lebanese-born, Paris-raised Mira Mikati pursued her fashion ambitions from a young age, attending Paris’s Ecole Superieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode before gaining certificates from Parsons New York and Central Saint Martins. Her now-eponymous label was conceived in the early 2000s, with Selfridges and Bon Marche among the first to pick up orders. Her assembly of wares reflects the carefree and effortless style of a summer holiday. In spring 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic, Mikati opened her own boutique, Happy House, on London’s Walton Street.
