Lent Coloring Book, written by Michael Goode and illustrated by Margaret A. Buono, is a fun and creative way for children to learn about preparing for the Resurrection of Jesus and the forty days leading up to Easter. Lent is a time in the liturgical calendar when Christians are called to detach from one thing in order to attach ourselves more firmly to Jesus. Through acts of service and yielding to our ‘worldly’ desires, Lent affords us the opportunity to examine and renew of relationship with Jesus and our commitment to live our Catholic faith in the providence of our daily lives. There are many ways that people learn material. Educators have identified at least 23 different learning styles. Learning the faith while engaging in coloring reinforces the message in a kinesthetic manner. A kinesthetic learner is someone who learns best through physical activity, such as touching, moving, or performing hands-on tasks such as coloring. They are also known as tactile learners and this coloring book is a great way to learn about the season of Lent through the 32 pages specifically designed to make the faith come alive.
