The pair gave readings and workshops from New York to California, at many universities and prestigious art venues. He is the recipient of the Eric Gregory Award for Poetry (The Society of Authors, London), The Society of Authors Award, The Royal Literary Fund Award (London) and an Arts Council of Wales Award. He has been a prize-winner in several UK and international poetry competitions. He has resided at Big Sur, California, in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014 as writer-in-residence. Peter is the Founder and Editor of The Seventh Quarry Swansea Poetry Magazine, which publishes poetry, artwork, translations, interviews and articles from around the world, and the accompanying The Seventh Quarry Publishing Press, which publishes international books of poetry, prose, art, literary matters, and children s literature. His poem Kilvey Hill has been incorporated into a permanent stained-glass window at the new Saint Thomas Community School in Swansea, Wales. In 2014, he was a part of a number of DT100 events in the UK and in America celebrating the Centenary of the birth of Dylan Thomas. The Dylan Thomas Walking Tour of Greenwich Village, New York book and smartphone app were launched by the Right Honourable Carwyn Jones, the First Minister of Wales, accompanied by Peter and Hannah Ellis,Dylan s granddaughter, in New York. His latest books are Raisins with Almonds / Passuli cu mennuli, Sailing the Yangtze, and Tango Nights (both published by The Feral Press, 2014). Among the many honors he has received, he most treasures the 2011 Korean Expatriate Literature Association award for his contribution to the promotion of the globalization of Korean literature through exchanges of Korean and American poetry and Peter Thabit Jones s special 2014 Stanley H. Barkan tribute issue of the Swansea, Wales-based international poetry magazine, The Seventh Quarry, published with a gathering of poems and interviews and photos and art by the many poets and writers and translators and photographers and artists Stanley has worked with during the last four decades.
