About the Author

Iris Apfel est une femme d'affaires am�ricaine renomm�e, d�coratrice d'int�rieur, ic�ne de la mode et collectionneuse de textiles anciens.

En 1950, elle a fond� Old World Weavers avec son mari Carl, une entreprise internationale de fabrication de textiles sp�cialis�e dans la reproduction de tissus anciens. Elle a �t� consultante aupr�s de la Maison Blanche sous neuf administrations, et a produit des tissus qui sont encore accroch�s dans la Gold Room aujourd'hui.
En 2005, le "Costume Institute" du Metropolitan Museum of Art a pr�sent� "Rara Avis", une exposition � succ�s des v�tements et accessoires d'Iris Apfel, faisant d'elle la premi�re personne vivante non cr�atrice de mode � �tre ainsi honor�e.
En 2014, elle a �t� le sujet du film prim� Iris, r�alis� par Albert Maysles. Professeure associ� � l'universit� du Texas, elle a re�u de nombreuses r�compenses, dont un prix sp�cial de la Fondation Women Together des Nations Unies pour son d�vouement et son soutien aux artisans du monde entier tout au long de sa vie.
En 2018, � l'�ge de 96 ans, elle a �t� la personne la plus �g�e � �tre transform�e en poup�e Barbie.
En 2023, � l'�ge de 102 ans, Iris a �crit Colourful, son livre h�ritage.
