"These are a few of the many letters written between the years 1875-1879, by (C.P.) Huntington to David D. Colton, who held fifth interest in the Southern Pacific Railroad, and was financial director of the Central Pacific. These letters were of a very confidential nature and never intended for the public eye. Upon the death of Colton the companies attempted to defraud the widow out of her rights, and during the ensuing litigation these letters were introduced in evidence". Fine clean copy.
