An inspirational account of one man's journey through spiritual growth and hardship.
The great struggle to be healed after a life of struggles is not to stop hating other people, but to stop hating oneself. Eugene's journey takes you through the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, the Vietnam war and the Civil Rights movement. Get an inside glimpse of the pain, insanity, torment, troubles and setbacks and reach with Eugene towards a better life.
The turning point in Eugene's life came when the Lord stopped debating over him, and Satan's game ended over his life. Coming Up the Rough Side is about the journey and struggles of a Black man.
Eugene L. Rodgers is here to tell you that he did not almost lose his mind; he lost his mind. He now has a sound mind to tell you about the hell that was in his life, and how he overcame it.
In Coming Up the Rough Side, he revealed the thinking of a young black warrior in the 60s, who retired from the US Air Force.
He is a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ with a testimony that will take you there.

About the Author
Eugene is an ordained minister, and an advocate for Jesus Christ who is rich in his faith. He was born and raised in South Jersey, in the Camden and Glassboro area. His life began with overcoming his environment, coming from the streets of Camden, NJ. His education was very limited, but he was highly favored in struggles and was equipped with the "make it or break it" philosophy. The only exit Eugene saw from Camden was going into the Air Force. Little did he realize the greatest fight was within him. Through Eugene s struggles, the devil tried to kill him, and he had an encounter with a demon face to face. God put a book in Eugene s soul at Phan Rang Air Base, Vietnam in 1970. The book has taken over forty years to write for Eugene to have enough courage to tell the story that the Lord Jesus Christ has given him.
Eugene has been blessed with three sons and a daughter. One of his biggest dreams was to see his children graduate from college. He was satisfied to see that dream come to reality. In addition to his children, he has been blessed with grandchildren.
Eugene is here to tell you that he did not almost lose his mind; he lost his mind. He now has a sound mind to tell you about the hell that was in his life, and how he overcame it, Coming Up the Rough Side. He revealed the thinking of a young black warrior in the sixties, who retired from the US Air Force. He is a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ with a testimony that will take you there.
