About the Author
Lesley Roessing, a/k/a Comma Momma, taught secondary and middle-level English-Language Arts for 22 years in suburban Philadelphia. She now teaches in the College of Education of Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia, where she also serves as Director of Coastal Savannah Writing Project and works with educators in Georgia and South Carolina coastal districts. Lesley is the author of The Write to Read: Response Journals That Increase Comprehension (Corwin Press, 2009) and No More Us and Them : Classroom Lessons & Activities to Promote Peer Respect (Rowman & Littlefield, 2012). She traces her fondness for commas to a childhood filled with Sentence Diagramming and Extreme Editing Competitions. These commas songs were written for her eighth-grade students at Ridley Middle School.
Miles Bodimeade is a scriptwriter/illustrator/sculptor whose work includes a 2.5 ton bronze sculpture for Gun Wharf, in Portsmouth England and many scripts for the BBC TV series, Doctors.
