About this title

Synopsis

The 10 Commandments of Baseball is an enjoyable mix of professional baseball stories and the author's affectionate retelling of his own amateur baseball experiences. Whether male or female, young or old, the reader is pulled into great baseball moments that make the baseball commandments come to life with compassion and humor. The focal point of the book is the classic, but little-known, 10 Commandments of Baseball, the baseball principles created by Major League baseball's most successful manager, Joe McCarthy.

About the Author

J. D. Thorne is a lifelong baseball fan and former University of Wisconsin baseball player. He is a well known employment law attorney who played more than 20 years of highly-competitive amateur ball. He has been involved in many civic organizations, the latest being a group that is working to get men's baseball reestablished at the University of Wisconsin. In addition to his most recent book, The 10 Commandments of Baseball, Thorne is the author of the classic management text, Concise Guide to Successful Employment Practices.
