We have an extensive range of collectible children's books, pictorial bindings, illustrated and finely made books and fine literature from around 1750 onwards. We have specialists lists for some remarkable book illustrators and designers (eg Talwyn Morris, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the Glasgow School, Arthur Rackham) and special catalogues in some subject areas (eg Richard III, Books on Books, All Things Fire, Farming, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Fantasy Art etc). Our interests include local history, the history of the book (including book art and design etc) and UK local history and these are reflected in our stock. We always try to keep the works of some authors in particular in stock, including Georgette Heyer, Richard Church, A J Cronin, R F Delderfield, Isaac Asimov, Terry Pratchett, Ian Fleming and so on.

Free economy shipping in the UK, regardless of the number of books ordered or the value of the order.
Overseas shipping costs are dependent on the weight of the books orders. You may therefore see different shipping costs for different books quoted alongside the price of the book. Books to be sent to Hawaii and Alaska will incur an additional charge above that quoted for delivery to the USA (this is because couriers charge more for delivery to these states).
Our books are dispatched regularly three times a week. Please inquire if you require expediated or 'best endeavours' shipping.
We use bespoke book boxes for most books; very small, awkwardly-shaped, multi-volume sets etc may have different packaging solutions to best protect them in transit. Our book boxes are made from recycled material and are fully recyclable. We are commited to minimising the environment impact of our book business and hope that you can support us in this endeavour.
