A bright copy of this scarce little novel, first novelisation of Cleves Kinkead's drama, complete with dust wrapper. A copyright edition of this novelisation of Kinkead's drama of 1915 and its Fox film production of 1930, directed by Victor Fleming and starring Constance Bennett, adapted by D. Torbett. Concerning a young servant who is seduced by the master of the house. Dated from institutional copies on Copac. A scarce volume held by two institutional libraries only, complete with unclipped dust wrapper. In the original publisher's full cloth binding with charming decorative gilt embossing to front board. Externally lovely with minor shelf wear only, spine lightly bumped to extremities, some darkening to spine. Dust wrapper unclipped and sound with minor shelf wear and chipping to head and tail of spine, lightly sunned to spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean with some age toning, as usual with the type of paper used. Near Fine.
