Common Grace: and the work of the Christian Institute

In this helpful booklet, Dr Needham explains how 'common grace' (God's favour to all men whether they are Christians or not) is so helpful in understanding the work of The Christian Institute. He identifies three key aspects of the relationship. First, he shows how Christians are both citizens of the church and citizens of civil society, with responsibilities to both communities, Second, he explores the role of the state as the most viable manifestation of the civil community and demonstrates how Christians can help the state be a guarantor of a just moral order. Third, he explains that every human being, by God's common grace, has a conscience - an internal understanding of right and wrong - which acts as a secret ally, recognising and responding to the claims of the moral law.
