About the Author

George Devitt has enjoyed a career spanning three decades of progressively responsible sales, marketing and general management positions. Devitt has served as a senior executive at firms ranging from pre-IPO startups to NYSE-listed companies. Most recently he has served as Managing Director at Polaris Advisory Group. His previous experience includes the payment processing and Point-of-Sale industry, the banking software industry, and the computer hardware and software industry. He has held sales and marketing management positions with IBM Corporation and Hewlett-Packard Company as well as such pioneering and innovative software firms as Go Corporation and Metaphor. Devitt is a graduate of the Warrington School of Business Administration at the University of Florida, where he majored in Marketing. Devitt is also a member of the Congressional Business Advisory Council, Member of the National CMO Council, an Advisor to the Gerson Lehrman Group Council of Advisors where he has achieved the designation of "Scholar," a member of the University of Florida Alumni Association, named to Madison's Who's Who in American Business, a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership and Scholastic Society, a member of the Florida Blue Key Leadership Honorary and a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity Alumni Association. He is married to Dr. Leslie Gavin Devitt and has four children, who reside with him in the Orlando, Florida, area.
