Communication and Applied Technologies: Proceedings of ICOMTA 2024 (Smart Innovation, Systems and Technologies, 427)

This book features selected papers from the International Conference on Communication and Applied Technologies (ICOMTA 2024), Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, Lima Peru, during 4–6 September 2024. It covers recent advances in the field of digital communication and processes, digital social media, software, big data, data mining, and intelligent systems.

Daniel Barredo Ibáñez is Researcher at the University of Malaga (Spain), thanks to the Emergia Program funded by the Ministry of University, Research, and Innovation of the Regional Government of Andalusia. Additionally, he is Invited Researcher at Fudan University (Shanghai, China), since 2020. His interdisciplinary work explores three research lines: studies on public opinion, technology, and media; studies on violence against journalists or vulnerable groups; and international studies from a comparative perspective. He obtained his Ph.D. in journalism from the University of Malaga in 2013, as well as a master's and an expert degree in communication, and a bachelor's degree in hispanic philology and audiovisual communication from the University of Granada. He was responsible for formulating and leading the Divulgación Casanare Transmedia Lab program, which secured approximately 750,000 euros in the most prestigious competitive call in Colombia.

Eliana Gallardo-Echenique received Ph.D. in educational technologies: e-learning and knowledge management at Rovira i Virgili University (Spain). Eliana Gallardo-Echenique qualified as CONCYTEC Researcher in the National Registry of Science, Technology, and Technological Innovation―RENACYT (Code P0030507). Eliana Gallardo-Echenique is Full-Time Research Professor at the Faculty of Communications of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC). Eliana Gallardo-Echenique's main research areas are digital communication, digital competence, digital technologies, e-learning.

Hotniar Siringoringo is Professor of Economics at Gunadarma University, Jakarta, Indonesia. She had a role as Few Journal Editors from 2002 until 2012. She is immensely active in reviewing articles to be published in reputed international journals. She wrote and edited books both nationally and international scope. She has experience as Visiting Researcher on Ministerio de Telecomunicaciones y Sociedad de la Información, Quito, Ecuador, on the Prometeo project in April-July 2014. She wrote papers on various topics of business and management in reputed international journals.

Nieves Lagares Diez is Professor of Political Science and Administration at the University of Santiago de Compostela. She is Expert in the study of the formation and organization of political parties and in issues related to leadership, communication, and political marketing.
