Under an interdisciplinary approach, community behaviour, including livelihood-based decisions, practices, and actions, is recognised as the interface between ecosystem and social system, in which each behaviour is motivated or influenced by different ecological and social factors. The research was conducted in Thuong Nhat, a commune situated in the Green Corridor, through a three step participatory social assessment: step 1: assessing the situation to understand ecological and social contexts of the community and local conservation problems; step 2: identifying critical behaviours; and step 3: identifying key influential factors of critical behaviours. About the Author

Nguyen Viet Dung, Program Director in Policy and Education for PanNature in Vietnam since 2006, studied environmental education in the University of Strathclyde (Scotland,1999), and obtained a M.Sc in Human Ecology from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium,2005). He is interested in policy research and advocacy for natural resources governance.
