About the Authors

Hayden Smith is a professor of criminology and criminal justice at the University of South Carolina. He holds a Ph.D. in public affairs and an M.A. in criminal justice from the University of Central Florida.

Faye S. Taxman is a professor at George Mason University and the director of The Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence. She holds a Ph.D. in criminal justice from Rutgers University and a B.A. from the University of Tulsa.

Jill Viglione is an associate professor of criminal justice at the University of Central Florida. She holds a Ph.D. in criminology, law, and society from George Mason University and an M.A. in criminology, law, and society from Villanova University.
