Community and Environment (Growing, Growing Strong)

Children develop a sense of security and self-worth by becoming familiar with themselves, their home, and the world around them. Increase children’s awareness of their own communities and the ways they can help within their home and environment with this Community and Environment curriculum. It will help children learn about their homes and neighborhoods, safety helpers, health helpers, consumerism, citizenship, and environmental education.

Charlotte M. Hendricks: Charlotte M. Hendricks is a certified health education specialist and president and founder of Healthy Childcare Consultants, Inc. She has been promoting health education for young children, parents, and teachers for more than thirty years. She completed her doctoral degree in health and safety at Indiana University.
Becky S. Bennett: Becky S. Bennett is the director for the career services center at Western Kentucky University.
