This new and innovative introductory community health text is based on a framework of caring and provides a broad-based perspective of the many dimensions of community health nursing. Special emphasis is placed on cultural awareness and global health care to help students develop respect for therapies that complement traditional health care practices. Chapters on global health care, health care finances, nutrition, mental health, and alternative healing modalities examine the importance of these topics specifically for the community health nurse. Useful for both the student and practicing nurse, this text offers a unique perspective of the realities of working in the community.
