Community Helpers (Let's Learn American Sign Language)

Young readers learn about community helpers even before they come to school, often seeing them and interacting with them in the community. This book invites beginning readers to learn how to talk about community helpers in American Sign Language (ASL), the language commonly used by the deaf community. Photographs are paired with each term to help readers make important connections, and colorful illustrations demonstrate proper hand position and movement. Readers will enjoy learning about essential helpers in their community while improving their communication skills.
