Ian is a native Tennessean who spent the better part of the "internet bubble" era as CEO of New Human, Inc. out of Chicago, Illinois. In 1999, New Human reshaped its focus to support primarily community oriented business, working with local city governments, performing arts troupes, endangered species and human services firms. While managing operations at New Human, Ian also served as Executive V.P. of Support Services for Siteleader.com, Inc.
In the spring of 2001, wanting to expand into more community-centered business development, Ian created Sensible City with the vision of connecting businesses with the communities that support them. A former coffee house owner, professional athlete and skydiver, Ian loves a challenge and has been known to bring his mountaineering skills to the drawing board. He lives with his family in Asheville, North Carolina.
