A Community with a Shared Future for Humanity

Since the 18th National Congress, one of the highlights of China’ s diplomacy is the community with a shared future for humanity – an assessment by China’ s leaders of the current and future international environment. It is also an important mission within China’ s diplomatic transformation in the new era. China has advocated for the community with a shared future for humanity on various occasions and also walks the talk at bilateral, sub-regional, regional, and global levels, building a community with a shared future with neighboring countries, ASEAN, and Latin America.

This book has discussed the ideological origins, main implications, and wider significance of the community with a shared future for humanity. It has also made an in-depth analysis of the practice of the community with a shared future for humanity in various regions and specific problem areas.

Wang Fan, Vice President of China Foreign Affairs University, is a professor with a Ph.D. in law. His major publications include Great Power Diplomacy, International Relations Theory: Ideas, Paradigms and Propositions, East Asian Regional Cooperation and Sino-US Relations, and US Asia-Pacific Alliance. His main research interests include Asia-Pacific security cooperation, Sino-US relations, US-Taiwan military relations, China’ s foreign strategy, and alliance issues. Ling Shengli is a Ph.D. and associate professor at Institute International Relations, China Foreign Affairs University. His main research interests include international security and great power strategy, international relations in the Asia-Pacific region, and contemporary Chinese foreign policy. He is the author of books such as Divided but Victorious: A Study of U.S. Wedge Strategy in the Cold War Era.
