Peace in Action trains athletes and coaches on 16 critical lessons on character, including contentment, optimism, strength, and many more, as part of the Virtues to Victory Series of Sports Bible Studies. Each book in the series focuses on the fruit of the Spirit: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

Christian coaches and athletes can experience significant spiritual growth and transformation, referred to as “fruit” in the Bible. ROD HANDLEY is the former Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). He is currently the Founder and President of Character That Counts. He is a popular retreat and banquet speaker for men’s and women’s groups, singles, and married couples. Rod has published over 40 books, including Character Counts—Who’s Counting Yours?, which details how to begin being accountable to one another.

GORDON THIESSEN has published or written more than three hundred books on sports and competition. He founded Cross Training Publishing to provide resources for Christian coaches and athletes. Joe Ehrmann is a former NFL player, named to the All-Century and All-American football teams at Syracuse University (where he also lettered in lacrosse), former Baltimore Colts Man of the Year award winner, also named Man of the Year by the Frederick Douglass Society and the National Fatherhood Initiative, and co-founder (with his wife, Paula) of Building Men and Women for Others, Inc and Coach for America. He lives in Baltimore, MD. Paula is a licensed clinical professional counselor with over 25 years experience committed to the healthy development of athletes, individuals, couples, and families. Married for over 35 years and raising four athletes, Paula and Joe created Building Men and Women for Others, as well as The Door, where Paula developed a Drug Education Based Program for Youth.
