"An entertaining and unsettling thriller, The Con Company is about the pervasiveness of corruption, which is passed between generations as people trade integrity for advantages." — Foreword Reviews

A cinematic heist novel by award-winning screenwriter Gábor Domokos.

Everyone in this book has a role to play—and nothing is quite what it seems.

Set in Budapest and driven by razor-sharp timing, The Con Company is a fast-moving con-artist novel where charm, deception, and intelligence collide. The story unfolds through a cast of unforgettable characters—professionals, amateurs, and opportunists alike—each convinced they are one step ahead, even when they are not. Alliances shift, appearances deceive, and every detail matters more than it first appears.

With its cinematic pacing, dark humor, and intricate misdirection, the novel invites the reader into a world where the line between performance and reality is deliberately blurred. Every conversation, every gesture, every choice carries weight—and the reader is constantly challenged to keep up.

Smart, playful, and relentlessly entertaining, The Con Company is a celebration of the art of the con—where being fooled is part of the fun, and the biggest trick is believing you have seen it all.
