The gyro section covers the Sperry, S. G. Brown and Arma-Brown compasses; the illustrations on pages 18 and 20 were supplied by S. G. Brown Ltd. of Watford, which began building gyrocompasses during the First World War and licensed the Arma flotation design from Bosch Arma in 1957.
