A Compend of Geology (Classic Reprint)

Explore how the Earth grew into its present form by studying its processes today. This clear introduction helps you see geology as a history you can read in rocks and soils.

Geology is shown as a practical science that explains the past by looking at the present. The book divides the topic into three big areas—dynamical, structural, and historical geology—and shows how current natural processes shape what we find in the ground. It emphasizes observation in the field and connects everyday landscapes to deep time in a straightforward, student-friendly way.
