In fair condition. Spine rebacked with modern rice paper. Affixed typed label. Original leather boards are pitted, worn. Corners are rubbed and worn to the board. Leather remains rich in color and soft. Modern stamp ownership on front and rear pastedown. Old hand ownership and previous bookseller s information on flyleaf. Interior toned with scattered foxing. Fold-out maps in working order with foxing and light tears. A few have been improperly folded. Free of ownership. Binding tight and intact. Please see photos. Jedidiah Morse (1761-1826) was a geographer whose textbooks became a staple for students in the United States. He was the father of the telegraphy pioneer and painter Samuel Morse, and his textbooks earned him the sobriquet of "father of American geography.".
