Thick octavo (22cm); publisher's full sheep, red and black gilt spine pieces; xvi,[17]-640; eighteen engraved plates on seventeen leaves (collated complete). Leather quite dried and worn at margins, chipping at spine ends, foxing throughout textblock, rear flyleaf torn. About Very Good and sound. With bespoke contemporary ownership label at spine foot (a bit chipped but still identifies this as Jas. Huntington's copy), additional ownership signature (Chas. Botsford / 1835) to front flyleaf. Oft-reprinted encyclopedic gynecological textbook with extensive chapters on the displacement of the uterus, the use of forceps during delivery, hemorrhaging, and monstrosity and deformity.
