Les images des membres principales, Nadezda Tolokonnikova et Maria Alekhina, ont été vues à travers le monde avant qu'elles ne disparaissent toutes deux pour deux années dans les camps de travail russes.
Immédiatement après leur libération, l'entrepreneur talentueux et photographe pointilleux Bert Verwelius a contacté les deux jeunes femmes pour ce qui devait devenir un extraordinaire shooting : à l'aide de leur récits et de croquis de la prison, il a dépeint leur vie et leurs conditions de travail en une série d'images impressionnantes. Cependant, Bert Verwelius nous montre également un aspect différent des deux jeunes femmes.
