648 pages, a very good plus hardback, publisher's original brown cloth binding with gold gilt lettering to the spine - still bright, minimal evidence that this is an ex-library book, although there is a tonal change on the lower part of the spine where the library sticker used to be. Lending card from the University on the ffep (can easily be removed later) shows it was only lent out on one occasion - that was nearly 48 years ago, 3rd Oct 1977.
