Full green morocco, AEG, gilt dentelles. Joints rubbed. Internally excellent. lx, 418 pp. 54 text and full-page engravings. Binding by Bayntun of Bath. This edition, called the Fourth on the title page but actually the Sixth Major edition, was the last to be published in Major's lifetime. Oliver 53: "The illustrations of this edition are of peculiar interest, since they have been reproduced far more often than those of any other edition. . Art could scarcely go further, and no more elegant volume could find a place in a library." See Coigney 56. This lacks the catalogue mentioned by Coigney.
