Two Volumes Bound in One. Undated, 1840. Thick Small Quarto. Limited to 250 copies of which this is number 248. Half vellum and brown paper boards with gilt title to spine. Gilt to upper page edge. Other edges untrimmed. Illustrated throughout in black & white with 12 steel engravings under tissue guards, and numerous in text decorations throughout. In very good condition. Some wear to the edges of the paper boards. Slight age darkening to page edges. Attractive previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Some evidence of a few pages starting. Otherwise, a nice sharp copy. Binding is strong, square and text is clean. Book comes protected in a brand new mylar cover. An uncommon edition of a classic on the spirit of fishing.
