The Bearded Collie started life hearding sheep in the Highlands of Scotland, but its versatility has meant that it has adapted to life as a glamorous show dog, a successful competitor in obedience and agility contents, and a loving family pet. This book traces the history of the Beardie from its rugged origins to its role in present day society, including some material on the struggles of establishing the breed in its formative years.
