Myers, No 2, Paternoster Row, London, for West and Hughes, No 40 Paternoster Row. (xxiv) + 360pp., rebound in brown leather with gilt titles to front cover, new endpapers. Some stains to title-page and back page, pages browning, page edges uneven and browning, but generally excellent for its age. The first edition of the 'Compleat Confectioner' by Hannah Glasse was printed in 1760. It was later reprinted by J. Cooke ca. 1770, under the title 'The Complete Confectioner', and again in 1772. In 1799 it was issued in 10 parts, edited by Mrs. Maria Wilson; these were later issued in book form in 1800. This copy is one of these 1800 books.
