The Complete and ExtraOrdinary History of the October Surprise

Did the Ronald Reagan/George Bush campaign negotiate a deal with Khomeini’s Iran to delay the release of the American hostages until after the presidential election of 1980, thereby assuring themselves of victory? In this highly original faux history, Brian Josepher places the reader in the middle of the action as the takeover of the embassy unfolds, the hostages undergo interrogations and mock executions, the Reagan campaign negotiates with the Khomeini regime, and President Carter desperately tries to free the hostages and win a second term in office. Full of “inside conversations,” memorable set-pieces and “eyewitness” testimony, the reader will be astounded by both the serious and funny connections among political players and historical events. A must read for political enthusiasts interested in a noted conspiracy theory and how recent history has influenced current U.S.-Iranian relations – as well as anyone interested in an uproarious satire.

An author of three previous books, Brian Josepher is currently writing about the “psychache” of Elie Wiesel. For more information on the October Surprise please visit: www.brianjosepher.wordpress.com.
