Has the act of removing your shoes become one of life's great pleasures? THE COMPLETE FOOT BOOK, written by two doctors of podiatry, is an easy-to-follow, beautifully illustrated guide designed for anyone--of any age--who suffers the unnecessary aches and pains of common foot problems. It explains how the foot functions, how foot problems develop, and how these problems should be treated.
From Library Journal:
This is one of those ostensible do-it-yourself books with a publisher's warning at the very beginning that doing it yourself is really not appropriate. Even the authors tell you to see a "holistic" podiatrist if you really want to get well (they warn you away from orthopedic surgeons, whatever you decide). While this book includes a great deal of information about the foot (anatomy, ankle function, corns, calluses, flat feet, etc.) it is not "complete," as there are a great many foot disorders that are omitted. The authors blame almost everything on pointed, high-heeled women's shoes and jogging. Libraries that have a very extensive medical collection might purchase this book, but it is doubtful if anyone will read it completely.
