A Complete History Of England: From The Descent Of Julius Caesar, To The Treaty Of Aix La Chapelle, 1748. Containing The Transactions Of One Thousand Eight Hundred And Three Years summarizes a comprehensive long-range history of England, tracing the development of royal authority, church–state relations, and political institutions from the early medieval period through the modern era. The work surveys key dynastic, religious, and military events, including the English Reformation, the consolidation of royal supremacy under Henry VIII, the Dissolution of the Monasteries, and the complex succession dramas surrounding Catherine, Anne, and Elizabeth. It also covers foreign policy, wars with France and Spain, and the shifting balance of power within Britain and Europe, alongside the evolving influence of Parliament and the church in governance. The narrative extends into the late Tudor and early Stuart periods, highlighting pivotal moments such as marriages, executions, rebellions, and the rise of maritime power, ending with the continental and domestic changes that reshape England’s constitutional framework and its standing in Europe.
