About the Author
Joel M. Lerner is an award-winning landscape designer and founder and CEO of Enviornmental Design, a landscape firm in Chevy Chase, Maryland. A past president and board member of APLD (Association of Professional Landscape Designers), he hosts his own weekly radio program, was featured in a TBS (Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.) series of homeowner landscape segments, and appears regularly on TV around the country. In addition to writing articles for professional and homeowner publications, he is the author of five critically acclaimed landscape books. He sits on the Natural History and Horticultural Advisory Committee of the USDA Graduate School, holds an appointment to the American Institute of Architects Committee on the Enviornment, and has lectured at the U.S. National Aboretum, the Smithsonian Institution, and numerous botanical gardens and landscape associations nationwide.
